Steeped in God’s Word

Be still and know that I am God - Psalm 46:10 (NIV)

Making tea is a slow, intentional process. You don't rush the boiling water, and you don't yank the tea bag out too soon. The flavor deepens as the tea steeps - the time and stillness bring out it's richness.

Our relationship with God is much the same. We live in a world that prizes speed and instant results, but spiritual growth takes time. When we slow down and "steep" in God's presence through prayer, Scripture or quiet reflection, our hearts begin to absorb His peace, wisdom and love.

Just as water changes color as the tea infuses it, time with God changes us from the inside out. His presence softens bitterness, sweetens our spirit, and fills our lives with a deep, abiding flavor that can't be hurried.

Thoughts for today

  • Am I giving myself time to "steep" in God's Word each day?

  • What areas of my life need the gentle warmth of His presence?

Prayer:

Lord, help me to slow down and sit with You. Steep my heart in Your love until your character colors every part of my life. In Jesus name, Amen.

Love this analogy, and how fitting for you… my tea loving friend!🥰

Praise God that He continues to change and mold us when we sit with Him!🙏🏻
